Concierge Personal Trainer in Mallorca – how I stumbled on the term (and already live it)

Recently I stumbled on a term I had not come across before: “concierge personal trainer”. I looked up what it means – and had to smile. Because what is described there as a new premium trend from the US is something I have been doing here in the northeast of Mallorca for years. I just never had a word for it.

How I stumbled on “concierge personal trainer”

The term comes from the US and describes a model that has little to do with the classic image of a trainer in a gym. “Concierge” – like in a hotel: there is one person who takes care of everything so the guest does not have to worry about a thing. Apply that principle to personal training and you get the concierge personal trainer.

Instead of driving to a gym, signing up, hunting for equipment and training among strangers, the trainer comes to you – to your home, your finca, your hotel, the beach. And he organises the things around the training that make it actually fit your life.

When I read that, I thought: this is not a new trend. This is how I have worked in the northeast of Mallorca for years. I just never had a label for it.

By the end of this article you will know exactly what a concierge personal trainer is, how it differs from a normal personal trainer and from a gym, who the model is for – and how to tell a real coach from a pure booking agency.

02

Concierge trainer, normal personal trainer, gym – the difference

A normal personal trainer looks after you during the session. You book an hour, you train, then everyone goes their own way. Good work – but it ends at the gym door.

A gym gives you machines and a contract. The rest – plan, technique, motivation, logistics – is on you. For many that works for a while, until everyday life gets in the way.

The concierge approach starts one level higher: not only the session is handled, but everything needed so that you train regularly at all. Equipment, location, plan, nutrition input, recovery, scheduling – that sits with me, not with you.

The difference at a glance

• Gym: machines and a contract – you do the rest.

• Classic personal trainer: looks after the session, then it ends.

• Concierge personal trainer: looks after the training AND everything around it – so consistency happens.

03

Who the model is for

Concierge training is not a status symbol but a solution to a concrete problem: too little time, too many hurdles, too little consistency. It is especially worth it for a few clear groups:

• Busy professionals who do not want to burn their scarce free time on driving, parking and waiting.

• Second-home owners and residents in the northeast who want steady coaching but no gym membership.

• Guests who come to Mallorca to train and want a well-organised, active week – instead of guessing in the hotel gym.

• People over 50 and those returning to training, for whom a private, protected setting often makes the difference.

• Anyone easing back in after an injury or a back issue who needs sports-therapy guidance.

For pure short-stay tourists with two days, the model is oversized – a single session is enough there. Its full value shows over several weeks.

04

“I take care of everything” – what that means in practice

The heart of the concierge idea fits in one sentence: you focus on the training, I take care of everything else. In practice that means four things.

Before the training: I source the equipment we need – you do not have to buy or carry anything. If you want to train in a studio, I research the right one near you in advance and clarify the terms. I tailor the training plan to your goal and your level before we do the first session.

Training and recovery: I program the sessions individually – based on my YPSI A-License and my training as a Certified Functional Strength Coach. On nutrition I do not push a full coaching on anyone; most people do not want that here. But I give you concrete input on how to get through an intense training week better with smart eating – my Precision Nutrition background, practical and without dogma.

So your body keeps up: massage is not part of what I offer. But through my expertise and my years here I know therapists in the northeast who know their craft – if a week gets intense, I recommend someone specific I trust.

The things around it: if you come here to train, I organise padel courts on request, including suitable playing partners. For accommodation, restaurants and leisure I give you honest first-hand recommendations – booking and reserving you would rather do yourself, in my experience. Only for the finca search can I name you a direct contact if you need one.

What sits with me – and what with you

• With me: equipment, training plan, studio research, nutrition input, therapist recommendation, padel organisation.

• On request: a contact for the finca booking.

• With you: booking hotel, restaurants and leisure – I give the recommendation, you decide.

05

A real coach or just a booking agent? What to look for

Now the part that can give the term a bad taste. Because “concierge” is already used in Mallorca by agencies that do not train anyone themselves.

The pattern is always the same: a lifestyle or villa concierge sends you whatever freelance trainer they happen to have available, takes a referral margin – and until the first session you do not know who is coming or what they can do. Sometimes it is a good trainer, sometimes an entertainer with a certificate from the internet.

With me there is no black box. From the first message to the last session you have one point of contact: me. I plan, I train, I adjust. No handing off, no changing faces, no margin for a middleman.

So before you book “concierge” training, check:

• Does the person you are talking to train you themselves – or only refer you on?

• Are the qualifications named and verifiable – or does it stop at “certified trainer”?

• Do you get a consultation and a plan up front – or a surprise on site?

My basis is verifiable: YPSI A-License, Certified Functional Strength Coach, Precision Nutrition Level 2 Master Coach and my training as a sports therapist. That is not here to impress, but so you know who is working with your body.

What a concierge week in northeast Mallorca looks like

What does this look like in practice? Take a typical week with a guest who comes here to train.

It starts with a free consultation – 30 minutes in which we clarify your goal, history and setup. From that the plan takes shape, before you even board the plane. Equipment and – if you want – a suitable studio are ready when you arrive.

We train where it suits you: at your finca, on Playa Son Moll, on the coastal path to the Cap de Capdepera lighthouse, or in a studio nearby. Between the intense sessions I schedule active recovery – and if your body needs a massage, you have my recommendation.

And because a week on Mallorca is more than training: on request a round of padel with partners is on the plan, plus honest tips for restaurants and leisure that fit an active week. Train, recover, experience – well-organised, but not over-scheduled.

My service area covers Cala Ratjada and 30 km around it with no travel surcharge: Capdepera, Artà, Son Servera, Sant Llorenç, Porto Cristo and Sa Coma.

If that sounds like the way you want to train, let us talk. The first consultation is free and without obligation.

Key takeaways

Concierge personal trainer: what matters

1

The term comes from the US, the principle is old: one person takes care of everything so you only focus on the training.

2

The difference from normal training is not the session, but everything around it – equipment, location, plan, nutrition input, recovery, logistics.

3

Watch the difference between a responsible coach and a booking agent who sends a random trainer.

Frequently asked questions

What does a concierge personal trainer in Mallorca cost?

The training sessions sit in the usual range for qualified mobile personal training in the northeast – you can find the details on my prices page. The organisation around it (equipment, studio research, padel, recommendations) is part of the coaching, not a separate surcharge. Bookings for hotel, restaurant or finca you pay directly with the provider.

Do you really come to my home or finca?

Yes. Mobile training is the core of the model: I come to your finca, your villa, your hotel or an outdoor spot. Within 30 km of Cala Ratjada with no travel surcharge. If you prefer a studio, I find a suitable one for you in advance.

Do I need my own equipment or a training room?

No. Whatever we need, I bring or source. Many fincas and villas have space anyway – terrace, garden, pool. If something is missing, that is no problem: a full session also works with minimal equipment.

Is this only for professional athletes or very wealthy people?

No. Concierge training is not a status symbol but an answer to a lack of time and consistency. It is worth it for busy professionals, residents, returners and people over 50 just as much as for the sporty and ambitious.

Do you also organise the things around it like padel, restaurants and leisure?

Padel courts including suitable partners I organise directly on request. For restaurants and leisure I give you honest recommendations; booking you would rather do yourself. For the finca search I can name a direct contact if needed. Massage I do not offer myself – but I recommend therapists in the northeast I trust.

How is this different from a trainer at the hotel gym?

A hotel-gym trainer looks after you for an hour in the hotel and knows neither your history nor your goal. With the concierge model there is a continuous plan, a fixed point of contact, and the coordination of training, recovery and daily life across the whole week.
